“Make the new exercise as flexible as possible,” says Burke, who directs CSU’s Adult Fitness Program, which provides clinical experience for health and physical education students.

As the situation forces us to rethink what our workdays look like, patiently working through the growing pains can make all the difference. Amidst all this uncertainty, Burke is certain of one thing: stay active.
“For home workouts, bodyweights are still a great form of exercise,” says Burke. “Sit-ups, push-ups, etc.”
Exercise bands and weights are handy, and for those who don’t have 5 to 10 pounds, Burke suggests a homemade solution of empty milk cans filled with water.
There are also plenty of free fitness videos to help you work out on your TV or laptop.

“If you’re at home with your partner, spouse, or kids, do partner exercises,” Burke advises. Being at home will allow us opportunities to learn and grow that our schedules didn’t offer before.
Burke says he recommends spending time outdoors whenever possible. Just be safe and avoid society.
