Set an alarm: One thing I want to do every day is wake up at the same time every day. Not only does it help me get back to normal during this time, but it also makes it so much easier to get things done! You’re about to sneeze, so don’t forget to make a pair now. It might take some getting used to, but I promise the more you do it, the better it gets.
Work-life Balance Tips: For Employers & Employees
Morning Sweat / Exercise: I like to start the day with a little exercise. It helps clear my head and has always been a kind of “relief” before the start of a busy day. I can promise you that even going for a walk is a quick mood lifter before the day starts. One thing I like to do at the beginning of the week is to make a “space” on my calendar for a morning activity so you don’t miss it! You probably won’t miss a meeting, and after all, you don’t want to miss any meeting you’re busy with.
If you’re looking for different morning sweat/workout ideas, some that I personally like are running, Milo walking, strength training, HIIT classes, group classes. While much of it may seem different now, there are tons of great options online!
Press: This one took me a while to figure out. I always found an excuse not to do it in the morning, but I could vary the days I did it. The thing about journalism is that it doesn’t have to be complicated. Open your journal and write exactly how you feel. That’s what I do! It’s an opportunity (usually for 5 minutes) to let go of how you feel before the day starts. So, whether it’s stress, anxiety, etc. I’ll help you remove it before I start my day.
I would recommend getting a new journal/notebook and dedicating time to it every day. You can also add it to your planner to do it every morning. Trust me, you’ll notice how much better you feel when you start your day if you make a habit of doing this.

Coffee Time: I don’t know about you, but coffee time is a sacred time for me. Looking forward to it after I finish my morning coffee (haha!). I think it’s important to find things/moments that make you feel like yourself. Moments that give you energy for the day and create balance in your day.
If you don’t like coffee, try another drink! Matcha, tea, etc. and don’t forget to take a big glass of H20 beforehand.
I usually take my morning supplement at this time too! I take Binto as a personal supplement and love them. Check them out here. (“” also gives you a 20% discount). I also take Life Anxie-T Seasons and an energy supplement (“Taylor” gives 15% off) before starting the day.
Clean Room: Clean Room = Clean Mind. Don’t you feel better when the space around you is uncluttered? I know I will! Although it’s easy to clutter things up during the week, I always try to clean the space around me where I work and spend most of my time. I always feel more productive when I do that too. If it’s not already a habit for you, take some time in the morning to do a little pick me up, but you’ll feel refreshed as you start your day.
