From tofu to broccoli, there are some basic survival tips every vegetarian should know. Making a dairy-free salad, quick stir-fries of greens are just a few of the things that go into life with vegetables. Once you have some basics, you can build on them to make things more interesting.
If you have a few ready-made meals, it’s easy to turn raw ingredients into tasty, healthy and delicious meals. Items such as frozen vegetables, nutritional yeast, soy sauce or liquid aminos, dry spices and pasta.
Meat-free meals take less time to prepare than meat meals! With a little planning, you can make larger batches of cereal if you have extra time. Sauces, dressings, things like rice or quinoa, beans or tofu.

Invest in basic kitchen tools like quality knives, cutting boards, cups and spoons, pots and pans. Practice “mis en place”, which means you have all the ingredients ready before you start cooking. Chop the vegetables, measure the spices and arrange everything you need. It makes cooking easier and less stressful.
Before you start cooking, read the recipe thoroughly. No, you won’t remember everything, but it gives you a baseline of where to start and prevents surprises. And if you read it you know where you left it and you didn’t hunt to read it again and now your dead chicken is burning.
While cooking, taste your food at different stages to adjust the seasoning and taste to your liking. It helps you to understand the effect of different substances. And don’t be afraid of the season, it took me forever to figure out. The only mistake you can make with seasoning is salt, so be weary about it.

Basic Healthy Cooking Tips
Mastering basic knife skills will make your cooking experience easier and more enjoyable. Learn how to work with a knife, chopping, slicing and dicing different ingredients. Fun fact: Having a dull knife is 100 times more dangerous in the kitchen than a sharp one. Why because with a dull knife you put more effort into cutting something which makes the situation more dangerous. Cooking takes time and some dishes require patience. Cook food properly and do not rush the process. Enjoy it, you just have to make sure it comes out right. And that brings us to the next thing you can do while you wait patiently for that delicious meal.
Keep your work area tidy by cleaning up spills and putting away utensils and cooking utensils. This reduces the mess and makes cleaning more manageable. Trust me, you’ll thank yourself when you clean up less after cooking. It also removes unnecessary clutter.
